The introduction of the Ponto Verde Open Innovation business accelerator project was attended by around 100 people.

“Ponto Verde Open Innovation brings together on the same platform researchers, investors, associations, companies and universities all working for green growth and fostering valuable, innovative solutions“, said Luís Veiga Martins, Managing Director of Sociedade Ponto Verde (SPV). “The waste sector is very versatile, and has high potential. It has more than proved itself and will continue to innovate”, he added.

Ponto Verde Open Innovation will have the support of a number of strategic partners from a variety of areas (companies, universities, economists, banks, environmentalists, entrepreneurs, science and technology), to provide assistance such as mentoring, business incubation and financing. In this case, the funds will be allocated on the basis of the quality and size of projects, either directly by SPV, within the scope of its business, or by other partners.

Luís Veiga Martins also said, “The waste sector in its broad sense, which includes all flows, has high potential for creating economic value, creating jobs and fostering the appearance of eco?businesses to increase competitiveness and fight global warming. In short, to contribute to the growth and development of the circular economy“.
