GREEN DOT SYMBOL
The green dot symbol is a registered trademark that can only be used with the express authorisation of Sociedade Ponto Verde. It entails the existence of a valid contract between SPV and the packer/filler; this is the only way for a packer/filler to be duly authorised to use the symbol.
The addition of the Green Dot trademark on packaging, publications or communications must fully respect the basic rules on use of the green dot symbol and avoid any kind of misinterpretation of the symbol's meaning.

Firstly, placing the green dot symbol on packaging means that a financial contribution has been paid to Sociedade Ponto Verde for that packaging and that SPV is responsible for recovering the packaging after use.
IT IS CURRENTLY THE MOST USED REGISTERED TRADEMARK IN THE WORLD.
IT IS REGISTERED IN 35 COUNTRIES AND PRESENT ON MORE THAN 500 BILLION ITEMS OF PACKAGING.
The symbol must be placed on the packaging itself or on the label and be immediately identifiable by the consumer. It must not be changed and must be used with all its proportions and colours. It must not be complemented by any mentions or graphic elements, additions or changes without the express, prior, written agreement of Sociedade Ponto Verde.

Illegal use of the green dot symbol entails an obligation to indemnify Sociedade Ponto Verde for a minimum of €0.50 per item of packaging.
Companies that place on the market packaging bearing this symbol without authorisation from SPV in a signed contract are guilty of illegal use of the green dot symbol.
